Travel Doo Pro 4 Compact Slide Didgeridoo by Dr Didge Dolphin

The Travel Doo Pro 4 (TDP4) is the latest in the series of Dr Didge Dolphin’s hard fibre full octave travel doos.

The TDP4 consists of x3 body parts which are screwed together and x2 aluminium sliders which are collapsible and x1 small aluminium slider for extra length. When the sliders are fully extended the key is C2 and when fully collapsed the key is F2. This range of notes are the common notes used when playing didgeridoo. When the small slider is added the key can go lower to A#1

This didge comes with x4 screwable interchangeable wooden mouth pieces 28.5mm, 30mm, 32mm and 33mm concave. The bell is 130mm wide and the didge weighs 3.2kg and fits into a 65 cm bag.

The difference with this travel didge and the Travel Doo Pro 3 (TDP3) is that the TDP4 when set up in the main configuration allows the player to change keys very quickly through the common keys. It is ideally mounted on a stand for ease as a performance didge.

The TDP4 can also be played in other configurations as it has an adaptor to connect part 1 to 3 leaving part 2 off. Key range here is D2 – A#2. When the small slider is added then key drops further to C2. This set up would be ideal for sound healing and playing over people’s bodies as the didge becomes lighter and shorter.

Another configuration is to remove the bell and play with part 1 and 2 and 2 sliders.

The TDP4 allows ease of key changeability, without having to screw and unscrew the sliders as they collapse into each other. This makes it more suitable for performance artists for quick changes either within songs or between songs.
