Once upon a time, amongst the green hills just a stone’s throw away from Byron Bay in a little town called Mullumbimby (known to the locals as ‘Mullum’), there was a music shop. But this wasn’t just any music store, it sold the most eclectic and enchanting range of musical instruments ever seen within a single 60m2 shop floor! People would come from all over to marvel and experience the sound and feel of all kinds of weird and wonderful instruments from the four corners of the earth, and pick up the latest gadgets and accessories available for their guitars, drums and various other instruments of choice.

Many are often heard to say that Son of Drum is like a candy store for adults, even though the kids can’t get enough of it either! In the last few years we have solidified our claim of being Australia’s most eclectic musical instrument shop. Boasting an extensive range of acoustic guitars, basses, ukuleles, violins, cellos and percussion, we also showcase a vast offering of Native American flutes and medicine drums, meditation singing bowls, harmonicas, harmoniums, gongs, didgeridoos, harps, pianos, synthesisers, effects and loop pedals, amplifiers, microphones and stomp boxes. And of course, we carry all the accessories you’ll need such as strings, leads, capos, tuners, cases, drum sticks, bows, headphones and pretty much whatever else you can think of!
