Tibetan Singing Bowl - Brass
The Tibetan Singing Bowl is a Tibetan instrument forged in brass using traditional methods. Conjuring mental images of monks on a sacred mountain, they are still today employed by various religious sects in chanting and meditation rituals and are an item of important cultural significance.
Holding it in the palm of one hand, it is played with a wooden stick or striker, either by rubbing the stick against the rim of the bowl in a circular motion, creating a gradual build-up in audible vibration that produces a deep resonant tone, or by striking it like a gong for a sudden 'ding' sound. They are now popular around the world and are used for relaxation, meditation and sound healing purposes. They are also beautiful ornaments and make great gifts!
They all come with a wooden striker. For a softer effect, an extra striker with felt is recommended.
