High Spirits One-Inch Bore Bass Flute - Key of D - Ebonized Walnut
The One-Inch Bore Condor Bass flute in the key of 'D' minor is designed with smaller hands in mind. This flute features reduced fingering hole sizes and a shorter length, making it an excellent choice for those who are eager to explore the depths of bass flutes while finding traditional larger holes, bore sizes, and lengths challenging.
Handcrafted from Walnut wood, the Ebonised Walnut flutes undergo an intricate transformation process. Ebonisation involves multiple dips and the application of numerous non-toxic oil coats, resulting in a stunning final appearance, adorned with decorative Turquoise cabochons, but also a crisp, clear, and well-defined sound.
This flute harmonises seamlessly with the high spirits 'D' minor key flute collection, particularly the high-tone variants. With a length of approximately 23 inches (58 cm), it has a balanced blend of size and resonance.
Featuring six holes, this flute comes equipped with a leather hole cover, as depicted in the product images. Placing the cover on the third hole from the top makes learning to play easier. The leather hole cover can be easily untied and removed, giving you the flexibility to play the instrument as either a five-hole or six-hole flute.
Learn more about Ebonised Walnut: Ebonising, a technique popular in the early 20th century, was developed to mimic the appearance of genuine Ebony wood in furniture without the associated high cost. Unlike staining, ebonising deeply penetrates the wood fibers, transforming brown Walnut wood into a striking counterpart to black Ebony wood.
