Cabasa

One of our favourite toys at Son of Drum! This traditional Latin American percussion instrument can be used as a straight-up shaker, but also may be spun in short increments to achieve a guiro-like effect. Use the fingers of the non-shaking hand to spin the metal beaded rings. Or go for a long spin with the fingers and wrist of the handle hand to create long spin or pause in the shaking. It helps to swing the arm away from yourself while spinning and bringing it back down again.
