Really great product.
Gorgeous little piece. Half an hour of practise and I'm now a bayou living, kangaroo looking, 90s psytrance playing rave god.
An authentic brass Nepali Morchang. The reed is not as stiff as the copper Morchang’s reed, and thus is moderately easier to play. Draw starts are possible with this one. It is beautifully crafted and has a nice weight to it. It is an instrument that will last you a lifetime as long as you wipe your saliva off of it and remember to coat it with a bit of coconut oil every once in a while.
The note of jaw harp you receive will be random. The one I received was G#2. I wonder if we’d be able to choose the note we receive one day.
An authentic copper Nepali Morchang. Quite a stiff reed, something I have to get used to. I frequently get my lip and tongue stuck between the reed and the frame. Moderately difficult to get good sound out of this one compared to the brass ones, but I will adapt. Draw starts are easy with this one - and loud. Beautifully crafted and has a good weight to it. An instrument you will own for a lifetime as long as you wipe your saliva off of it and coat it with coconut oil every once in a while.
You will receive the jaw harp in a random note. I received mine in C#3. I wonder if we will be able to choose the note of jaw harp we get one day.
These are authentic Nepalese morchangs/murchungas, handcrafted and amazing quality with a satisfying weight to them. They come with tags indicating which note they are. The note you will get is seemingly picked at random. The reeds of both the copper and brass jaw harps are moderately stiff, and I find that it is easier to get sound out of them with an inward pluck, rather than an outward pluck - smaller chance of the reed hitting your teeth too. The sound is loud and buzzy. I’m looking forward to trying the giant copper jaw harp when it comes back in stock.
Remember to wipe down your jaw harps after every session and coat them with a bit of coconut oil every once in a while to prevent rust and corrosion. They will last you a lifetime this way.
