The rain shaker produces a range of effects. When cupped in the hands and gently rustled, they produce the rain-like sound for which they are named – great for teaching kids to play gently. They can also be shaken for a more traditional and louder sound. The thick, polished pods that produce the sound are a type of hazelnut from the Sterculia family of trees which grow in central Ghana, their unique earthy organic sounds make them wonderful addition to any kind of music. Note that the colour of the woven handle varies.
